EMS
Proper care following your treatment is important to ensure optimal results.
The Ultimate Guide to EMS: Pre and Post-Treatment Care
Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) treatments are non-invasive and designed to tone, strengthen, and sculpt your body by stimulating muscle contractions. To get the most out of your sessions and support your body’s natural recovery, please follow these recommended before and after care tips.
Before Your EMS: Preparation Tips
To ensure that your treatment is a success, there are a few things you should keep in mind before the appointment:
1. Hydrate Well
Drink plenty of water before your session. Staying hydrated supports your body’s natural ability to eliminate toxins and metabolize broken-down fat, and it can also reduce post-treatment muscle cramping.
2. Avoid Intense Exercise 24 Hours Prior
Let your muscles rest before your appointment to prevent overexertion. Gentle activity, such as light walking or stretching, is perfectly fine.
3. Check Skin Condition
Ensure the treatment area is free from cuts, rashes, sunburn, or irritation. EMS cannot be performed on areas with broken or inflamed skin.
4. Avoid Sun & Laser Exposure
Refrain from sunbathing, waxing, or laser treatments (including laser hair removal) on the treatment area for at least 2 weeks prior to your EMS session.
After Your EMS: Post-Treatment Care
1. Continue Hydrating
Drink at least 2 liters of water in the 24 hours following your treatment. This helps your body flush out released fat and toxins effectively.
2. Avoid Intense Exercise for 24 Hours
Allow your muscles to recover before returning to strenuous workouts. Light movement such as walking or stretching is encouraged.
3. Skip the Heat
Avoid hot showers, saunas, or spa treatments for 24 hours post-session. Warm (not hot) showers are fine.
4. No Waxing or Irritation
Do not wax or use harsh exfoliants on the treated area for 3–5 days. Instead, moisturize daily to soothe the skin and prevent irritation.
5. Healthy Habits Matter
For long-term results, pair your EMS treatments with a balanced diet, regular exercise, and consistent hydration. Think of EMS as your boost — your lifestyle choices will maintain and enhance your transformation.
